Membership Requirements And How To Join

To be a member of Greater Maryland Paranormal Society we expect that each individual is able to dedicate time for training, research, investigations, evidence review, and special events. Also it is important that each member works as a team . This is a service that we provide to the community we do not get paid any money for this , though it is voluntary we must remain professional at all times . Experience comes with training and participation .
To apply for the GMPS team please send us a application along with a cover letter to tell us what you feel you can bring to our group and why you would like to be a member of the GMPS. Once you notify us you are interested in our group we will meet with you for an interview and start the application process and then if your application is accepted there is an non-refundable application fee of $35.00 this covers your yearly dues.
That does not mean you are a GMPS Team member just yet , you must complete a six month probationary period in team 2. There will be required training and evaluations of performance . Then at the end of that period there is a voting process in which it is determined if you will be a member of GMPS.
You must be able to say yes to all the basic requirements needed to join below before contacting us.
1. You must be over the age of 21.
2. You must live in the Baltimore area.
3. You must have the time needed to become a member.(please do not apply if you have alot going on and think you can fit us in)
4. Your family must be ok with you wanting to become a paranormal investigator.
5. You can follow all the rules that are set forth by the GMPS.
6. You must be very serious about wanting to help others and are not doing it cause it looks fun on tv.
7. You have your own transportation to locations
8. You can pass a full background check
9. You are willing to work all jobs within the GMPS.(Interview, walk through, research, investigation, set up and break down, and evidence review to list a few)
10. You have no issues with travel, health, working with others, working all night, working in the afternoon, and have no personal drama.
As a member of team 2, you will be expected to take part in evidence review but will not be allowed access to any investigation locations until your background check is done. Then you may be asked to come out on investigations depending on need for extra investigators or of training. After you become a full member after your 6 month probation you will be allowed to investigate with out any limits.
